Airport: Minneapolis is served by Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP), which is the 12th largest airport in the US and has daily non-stop service from most major US cities as well as from Europe (e.g., London, Amsterdam, Paris), Asia (e.g., Tokyo) and Latin America (e.g., Cancun). MSP is also home to what is arguably the most famous bathroom in US political history.

Getting from the Airport to Downtown : Follow signs for Ground Transportation at the airport.

  • Taxi: Fare to downtown hotels is about $30-$35.
  • Shuttle and Van Services: There are also a variety of shuttle and van services to downtown Minneapolis hotels. These services run 24 hours a day and cost approximately $13 (one-way) or $21 (round-trip).
  • Light Rail Train: Rush hour fare is $2.25; off-peak fare is $1.75 (rush hour is Monday - Friday, 6 - 9 am and 3 - 6:30 pm). Tickets are sold at vending kiosks at the rail station, which is adjacent to the airport. Trains to downtown Minneapolis run approximately every 8 minutes, and it is about a 20 minute ride downtown. Exit the train at the Nicollet Mall stop (the next to last stop) and proceed up Nicollet Mall from Fifth to Seventh Street (a two block walk).

Driving: Minneapolis is located in the central midwest portion of the US. US interstate freeways 94 (East-West) and 35 (North-South) intersect in Minneapolis. Parking for an additional fee will be available at the hotel.
