The University of Minnesota offers a vast array of academic and cultural opportunities. As a place to learn, the University is one of the finest. Many of its graduate programs—including psychology—consistently rank among the country’s best. The University reaches throughout the State, with campuses in the Twin Cities, Duluth, Crookston, and Morris.
The Mississippi River divides the Minneapolis campus into two banks. Historical buildings border the picturesque mall of the main East Bank, home to psychology’s Elliott Hall.
Only a five-minute walk from the East Bank, the West Bank boasts sleek brick buildings like the main library, the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, the Law Center, the Ted Mann Concert Hall, and the Carlson School of Management. The Washington Avenue bridge, which carries both pedestrians and cars, connects the two banks.
Three miles away, the St. Paul campus evokes a small college atmosphere with animal barns, croplands, flowers, and wooded areas.
The Dinkytown, Stadium Village, Seven Corners, and Cedar-Riverside areas near campus, and the St. Anthony Park neighborhood near the St. Paul campus all feature shops and restaurants tailored to students’ interests and budgets.
Beyond the University campus, students also enjoy the charm and attractions of a major metropolitan area, frequently cited as one of the most desirable places in the United States to live.
