Industrial/Organizational Psychology

Our graduate program in industrial and organizational psychology gives primary emphasis to the traditional concerns of developing sound scholarship and research skills. Consequently there are no required courses or course sequences, except for a three semester advanced core seminar in industrial and organizational psychology topics (Psych 8701, 8702, & 8703). Each student’s program is planned to reflect the individual’s particular interests and objectives. In addition, we give strong emphasis to building a solid general background in differential psychology, social psychology, learning/cognition, psychometrics, and statistics. Both good research and competent practice in I/O psychology depend upon developing considerable expertise in quantitative methods and in basic psychological research and theory.
