This project was for Ms. Bennett's Biology Class at SHS (3rd hour). The purpose of this website is to educate and encourage people to get involved with this ecological problem with mercury in our local lakes and rivers in Minnesota. Please feel free to review our research.

The Website has four sections and this home page. Here is what each section contains:

  • The Problem- This section tells you about the problem mercury poses to our environment giving you background information and what we have learned from our research.
  • What You Can Do- This section gives you helpful information on what you can do to help eliminate mercury from our environment by getting involved.
  • Mercury Spills- This section gives you instructions on how to clean up and deal with a mercury spill (at home for example). It also gives numbers of who to call for help, etc.
  • FAQS- This section gives concise answers to frequently asked questions about the mercury problem.
  • Resources- This section is a list of several websites, contacts and resources used in this project. For further research on this subject, we suggest the websites listed or contacting the people we contacted for help.
