Thank you for your interest in the graduate program in psychology at the University of Minnesota. We hope you will find a program within our department that meets your needs. Applications are considered for admission for fall semester only. The application deadline is December 1.

Please note that the Department of Psychology does not admit students for a terminal master's degree.
We admit students for the Ph.D. degree for fall semester only.
The application deadline is December 1 of each year. The application materials are revised each summer and are available from September through December 1st. .
Important note about the deadline: Your ApplyYourself application is submitted to the Graduate School, and once they determine that it is complete, they will forward it to us at the Department of Psychology. We STRONGLY encourage you to submit your application early. If you wait until December 1st to submit your ApplyYourself application, it is likely it will delay the review of your application.

|GRE Scores||Electronically via
|You must send official PAPER GRE scores to the Department of Psychology. Use Institution code 6874 and Dept. code 2016. At the same time, scores need to be entered in the Test Information-Self-Reported field in ApplyYourself.

Your application will be reviewed after the application deadline of Dec. 1. Once reviewed you will be notified when the decisions are made. The Psychology Department does not send acknowledgments upon receipt of applications nor will we automatically notify applicants of missing documents. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure the arrival of all necessary documents to their correct recipients and by the deadline.
