Research Experience

2006/11-2007/02 Honorary Research Assistant (staff), Attention Laboratory, University College London, UK. Investigated the role of perceptual load in object recognition. Investigated the mechanism of perceptual load. Implemented experiments with E-Prime and Matlab. Analyzed data with SPSS. Wrote paper with Endnote. Advisor: Dr. Nilli Lavie

2004/09-2007/06 Undergraduate research fellow/independent study, Peking University. Investigated how self-construal affects visual attention and perception with flanker task and compound letter task with behavior, ERP and fMRI measurements. Implemented experiments with Presentation. Analyzed data with MATLAB, SPSS. Wrote paper with Endnote. Advisor: Dr. Shihui Han

2004/09-2007/06 Research Assistant, Brain Imaging Lab, Peking University, Investigated the role of expectation in inhibition of return (IOR) by ERP. Investigated the role of social cues in attention capture (AC). Implemented experiments with C language. Applied ERP knowledge to ERP practice of experimental design and data analysis. Advisors: Drs. Shihui Han, Lihua Mao

2006/07-2006/08 Summer Intern, Visual Psychophysics Lab, Beijing Normal University, Investigated the role of temporal pattern in priming with visual search tasks. Implemented experiments with MATLAB. Advisor: Dr. Cong Yu

2005 Advanced lab course on the theory and practice of fMRI, Peking University. Learned physical and physiological basis, experimental design and SPM-based data analysis of fMRI. Wrote a research proposal. Participated in the experimental designing process. Carried out the experiment. Helped analyze data with SPM. Advisor: Dr. Lihua Mao

2004 Advanced lab course on the theory and practice of ERP, Peking University. Learned the experimental design and interpretation of ERP. Mastered techniques of recording, averaging, artifact rejection, filtering and plotting. Carried out a real experiment from designing to data analyzing. Advisor: Dr. Xun He
