The general interest area of my research group is auditory psychophysics and perception. Although most of our research is concerned with normal hearing, we also have a long-standing interest in the effects of hearing loss. The general goal is to better understand the perceptual consequences of hearing loss and thereby to provide a solid basis for the design of auditory prosthetic devices. This research, like most of our research, is multi-disciplinary and involves collaborations with faculty and students in Otolaryngology, Communication Disorders, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, and Electrical Engineering.
