Spring 2008:PSY 4032. Psychology of Music (3 credits)

This course explores various aspects of music perception, including tonality, harmony, consonance and dissonance. We study the cognitive neuroscience of music by looking at research using brain imaging and research using patients with brain damage. We also consider developmental (babies) and comparative (animals) studies to help determine how much of our music abilities are innate and/or common across different species.
