1. Apply to the University Honors Program (UHP). As part of the admission process, you will need to meet with Dr. Randy Fletcher, the faculty honors representative in the Department of Psychology.
1. After being admitted into UHP, contact Psychology Undergraduate Advising and set up an appointment to declare the Honors Psychology major (appointments are approximately 40 minutes).
2. Bring a completed Educational Planning Questionnaire (EPQ) to your appointment. The EPQ will not be evaluated to determine your admission to the honors psychology major but will help your advisor guide you toward resources and cater your appointment to your individual needs and interests. It should also help you clarify both your short- and long-term educational, career and personal goals.
What will happen at my major declaration appointment?
We wil discuss the Educational Planning Questionnaire, review the requirements for completing the Honors Psychology major, discuss the many services and resources available to you through Psychology Undergraduate Advising, and electronically declare your major.
How often should I come back to meet with Psychology Advising after I declare?
You are encouraged to make an appointment with us at least once per year. In addition, when you have between 75 and 90 credits completed, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to set up a Junior/Senior Check-In appointment. Walk-In Hours are available for quick questions; these times are posted on Advisers' doors each semester.
