An undergraduate major in psychology is available for students who wish to focus a significant portion of their coursework on the study of human behavior. The Department of Psychology offers a B.A. degree in Psychology through the College of Liberal Arts (CLA). The field of Psychology is broad and diverse, encompassing areas such as human learning and memory, personality, behavior genetics, biological psychology, counseling, abnormal psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and social behavior.
The psychology major is designed to give you a breadth of knowledge across the discipline, as well as a strong foundation in psychological statistics and research methodology. You may also elect to earn credit toward the major through study abroad, internship, community engagement, and research laboratory experiences. Studying psychology as an undergraduate student can take you almost anywhere in the world of work, or prepare you for more in-depth study of psychology at the graduate level.
