AmeriCorps is the national service program through which 40,000
people each year tackle community problems from disaster relief
to tutoring.

to become part of Teach For America. Through an intensive admissions
process, Teach For America selects 500 new corps members who demonstrate
leadership potential and the ability to excel as teachers in under-resourced
public schools.
